THE NANAA AWARD
THE NANAA AWARDS WILL BE HELD ON OCTOBER 30, 2010 AT "THE NATIONAL THEATER, IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA U.S.A.
Important award dates:::::
June 7 through July 12, 2010 (Submission of first round entries from all NANAAS Members and THE PUBLIC for all award candidates nominations in all catagories)
July 19 through July 26, 2010 (The NANAAS Screening committee to insure that all award entries are in the correct catagories)
July 26 through August 8, 2010 (Voting members of The NANAAS cast their votes on all entries for the final nominees in each catagory)
August 16 through September 26, 2010 (The Public Vote for all final nominees for the 2010 NANAA Awards)
THE FINAL VOTING WILL BE TABULATED BY THE ACCOUNTING FIRM OF GREGORY AND ASSOCIATES AND MADE AVAILABLE TO ALL NANAAS MEMBERS ON DEMAND.

The NANAA Awards are presented yearly for outstanding achievements in the field of Native American arts and entertainment. 
These awards are presented to qualified artist who support and recognize the Native American art forms, crafts, music and history in all 38 different categories regardless of age, race, gender, nationality or tribal affiliation

Voting for The NANAA Awards is as follows:
 
(1) First Round Submissions for a NANAA Award are conducted by the voting membership of NANAAS in a first  round entry format in 38 different categories.
(2) The final 5 nominees in each category are then selected by the voting membership of The NANAAS.
(3) The final vote is selected by public voting combined with the voting membership of The NANAAS from The NANAAS web site (Unlike other organizations, The NANAAS recognizes 40% of the public vote and 60% of the voting membership as the final result for The NANAA Award

The NANAAS supports all Native American arts and crafts (designed and or manufactured) including all listed categories up for nominations. All aforementioned categories under consideration by the NANAAS are open to Native and non-Native alike who support the Native culture, arts and history. At the same time the NANAAS recognizes the laws supporting “authentically claimed” Native arts and crafts.
 
THEREFORE;
The NANAAS supports the Native American Arts and Craft Act of 1990.  All arts and crafts products, displayed, for sale or exhibited during any and all award shows will comply with The U.S. Department of Interior’s Indian Arts and Crafts A ct of 1990 (P.L. 101-644) including any and all updated amendments. The law covers all Indian and Indian-style traditional and contemporary arts and crafts produced after 1935.
