What's the difference between an entry and a nomination?
Entries are recordings or products submitted for the NANAA'S consideration. Entries that meet all eligibility requirements are then voted on by the NANAA'S 's voting members and the results of that vote are the nominations.
 
What are the eligibility requirements?
For the Annual NANAA® Awards, recordings pr products must be available for purchase to the general public and must be released from Oct. 1,  to Sept. 30, of the previous year from the awards. Recordings and products must be in general distribution world-wide and or in the United States, i.e. sales to a branch or recognized independent distributor, via the Internet, or mail order/retail sales for a nationally marketed product.
 
How are recordings and products entered?
The NANAA'S accepts entries online. After registering with the Awards department, entrants are given information on how to electronically submit their recordings or products for consideration. Recordings and Product entry's can also be entered via mail.
 
Who can vote?
Only The NANAAS voting members can vote and enter recordings and or products on the first round submissions process, than the public can vote on the final nominations.
 
Who qualifies as a Voting Member?
The NANAAS voting members are professionals with creative or technical credits on six commercially released tracks (or their equivalent). These may include vocalists, conductors, songwriters, composers, engineers, producers, instrumentalists, arrangers, art directors; album notes writers, narrators and music video artists and technicians, product and Craft designers and manufacturers.
 
How many categories are there?
The NANAA® Awards includes 40 categories.
 
How are categories changed or added?
Proposals for changes to the categories are reviewed each year by The NANAAS 's Awards & Nominations Committee, with final approval by The NASAAS voting membership. Proposals may be submitted by any member.

The NANAAS supports all Native American arts and crafts (designed and or manufactured) including all listed categories up for nominations. All aforementioned categories under consideration by the NANAAS are open to Native and non-Native alike who support the Native culture, arts and history. At the same time the NANAAS recognizes the laws supporting “authentically claimed” Native arts and crafts.
 
THEREFORE;
The NANAAS supports the Native American Arts and Craft Act of 1990.  All arts and crafts products, displayed, for sale or exhibited during any and all award shows will comply with The U.S. Department of Interior’s Indian Arts and Crafts A ct of 1990 (P.L. 101-644) including any and all updated amendments. The law covers all Indian and Indian-style traditional and contemporary arts and crafts produced after 1935.                 Visit http://www.doi.gov/iacb/act.html  for more information.
